REVEGETATION of SALT SANDY SOILS (fight against desertification).
On account of an international joint-venture, with the Italian financial support, my professional advice consisted in:
- the realization of a technical proposal for the reduction of salt quantities in sandy soils of an Egyptian territory, sited along Red Sea shoreline (Sinai Region), finalised to become a tourist village;
- the individuation of vegetable species (herbaceous, shrubs and trees) to be employed for revegetation of salt sandy soils of that areas.

Feasibility analysis, study of vegetation and (part of the following) preliminary project for the environmental recovery in a widestread mine area inside the Brazilian Amazonian Tropical Rainforest. On account of an international joint-venture, with Italian financial support, in a
area of 900 ha, my professional advice concerned the recovery of excavation areas and Rio Negro river banks, to recreate pioneer phases of the pre-existing ecosystems of Tropical Rain Forest. Though the importance to stop degradation of clay soils, the principal aim of the project I prepared was to restore and to safeguard (vegetable) biodiversity, according to International Declarations (Rio de Janeiro, Bandung, etc...) and, of course, to Ecology principles, well known to the international Scientific Community. From a technical point of view, the extremely acid values of pH (down to 2.9) and the saturation of Al (up to 100%) in the superficial layer of substrata [the former natural, the latter induced by anthropic utilization] were making spontaneous vegetable renewal practically unexisting or producing it very slowly. The presence of numerous colonies of leaf-eating Ants (especially
belonging to Acta and Acromyrmex Genus) further increased technical difficulties to be solved in the intervention projected.
